Q22 • How can my company optimize the translation process?

Ensure you include translation time in your project schedule from the outset.

As a rule of thumb, the average translator translates 1,500 words a day (that is a finished product, not a draft). We suggest that you take a page of a document that is similar to what you plan to produce. Count the words on that page and multiply it by the approximate number of pages you plan to produce. This will give you an approximate number of words. Then divide this total by 1,500 and you will have the number of days you should include in your production schedule for translation.
